Chronicles Of A Recovering Loner.
Yep, that’s my messy scrawl on the left, along with my signature.
My name is Ayesha Maria (hence, A.M.) Khan. I’m a 22 year old Writing & Drama major at the University of Toronto. Here I am, cheesing at the camera:

I’m a friend, a daughter, a singer, a feeler, a reader. An observer. A lover of dad jokes. I’m a strong advocate for mental health and issues of social oppression.
I’ve also been chronically lonely since my early preteens – something that’s seriously messed with my self-esteem.
Loneliness – or rather, the tendency to self-isolate – has been one of my greatest vices for almost ten years now, but along the ride, I’ve discovered a whole bunch of things that have put me on a more cheerful, slightly more populated road.
I’ve slowly, but surely, learned to build a support system and come out of my shell.
The Bridge From Lonely Island is for other chronic loners who have gotten so used to their solitude that they don’t remember how to make room for others.
If you’ve alienated yourself without meaning to, this is a place for you to relate, pick up some tips, and reach out to someone who’s been through what you have.
I hope to make you laugh, give you hope, and help you out. In that order.
So, without further ado… Let’s build a bridge.
